Clean Our City

On 22 November 2014, SAMIC launched a beach cleaning campaign called ‘Clean Our City’ in which participants collected garbage along Ocheur Teal beach in Preah Sihanouk province. The purpose of the campaign was to raise awareness of air pollution caused by garbage. This event attracted 137 participants from local authorities, students from BBU and UME Universities, MlupTapang organization and staff from SAMIC and Meada. During the event, materials for participants like T-shirts, trash pickers, plastic bags, gloves and gifts were given to the participants. After the opening remarks from SAMIC’s CEO and Deputy Governor, the participants started picking up garbage from SAMIC office all the way to Ochherl Teal beach.
