  • MR. KING KAP KALYAN, was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in response to the need for the growth of SAMIC. Prior to this appointment, Kalyan held the position of President after holding his previous position as General Manager for many years within SAMIC since late 2005.

    In his over twenty year experience in the Banking and Microfinance Sector, he was a Former Officer of Bank Supervision Department of the National Bank of Cambodia from 1993 to 2002; and he was the Credit Program Director of CHC NGO from 2003 to 2004.

    Kalyan holds an Associate and Bachelor Degree in Banking and Finance. He also holds Master Degree in Business Administration and Organization Development (Specialized in Microfinance Management) from the Philippines.
     

    Mr. NOP Saravoan was appointed as Chief Financial Officer of SAMIC in January 2016. Prior to this recent appointment, he was a Principal Consultant for SAMIC from July 2013 to December 2015. Before joining SAMIC, he had over 16 years’ experience in external audit and management consulting. He spent about 6 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers (Cambodia) as a Senior Auditor, Management Consultant and Social Compliance Coordinator between 1998 and 2004. He was an Audit Manager of AT&C (Cambodia) from 2004 to 2007, except for the period from 2005 to 2006 during which he worked as a Financial Consultant for Mekong River Commission (MRC) in Laos. From 2007 to 2008, he worked as a Financial Management Consultant for a World Bank Project assisting the Rural Electrification Fund. He worked for LRS Henderson Ltd as a Senior Manager for 4 years from 2008-2012. From 2012 to 2013, he was an Audit Manager at Rosoco Limited. He served as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of Gender and Development – Cambodia (GADC) from 2008 to 2013.

    Saravoan holds a BBA in Accounting from the National University of Management, Cambodia, and an ACCA from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom. He is an affiliate member of the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom.

    Mr. Rex De Lumban, was appointed as Chief Operations Officer (COO) of SAMIC in June 2015. Before joining SAMIC, he worked for CARD Bank of the Philippines as Partnership Manager in his overseas assignment to Cambodia.

    Rex had over ten years’ experience in banking, micro loan and saving operations. From 2003 to 2015, he worked for CARD Bank in various positions including Account Officer, Unit Manager, and Area Manager for microfinance operations, and Branch Manager for banking operations, Partnership Manager, and Remittance Manager. In his position as Partnership Manager in Cambodia from May 2013 to December 2014, he was mainly responsible for communicating with international partners, providing reports and recommendations on the progress of local partners, analyzing improvement of MFI partners, assisting local partners in some particular needs, and building long-term relationship with MFI partners.

    Rex graduated from Union College of Laguna (UCL) of the Philippines in 1998 with a BSc in Commerce major in Management. In addition, he has attended various trainings related to managing and developing microfinance and banking operations.

  • MR. OR NARIN, joined SAMIC in mid-2009 as HR and Admin Manager. He holds a MBA majoring in General Management from the Royal University of Law and Economics and a BBA in Business Administration from the National University of Management. He has developed a strong leadership and motivation skills through his many years’ experience in management and administration with various international organizations and private companies in Cambodia. During that time he held a number of key positions including that of General Manager of Laser World Solutions, Project Marketing Manager of International Project Marketing, Sales Manager of InterBev, Personnel Manager of Power Networks International, and the Project Assistant of Rural Development Project.

    Mr. HONG Ratha has joined SAMIC since May 2016. Prior to his appointment, he was the Management Information System Manager and Data Warehouse Team Leader of Amret Microfinance Institution for more than 2 years. Ratha has over 10 years’ experience in IT administration, development and core banking system support in the Technological and Microfinance industries.
    Ratha holds a Bachelor Degree in Management Information System from Setec University. In addition, to strengthen his knowledge, he have attended some professional training courses such as Team Building, Essential Communications, Empowering Leadership, Advanced Financial Management and other IT skills.
     

    Mr. CHEA PHENG was appointed as Operations Manager of SAMIC in November 2015. Before joining SAMIC, he worked as Head of Operations Department and, then, as Head of Training Department for a medium-sized microfinance institution in Cambodia. Pheng had been working with the same institution, which started as an NGO and later developed into an MFI, for over 15 years. He started his first career as Community Bank Assistant from 1999 to 2000 and, then, as Credit Officer from 2003 to 2006. Over the 9-year period from 2007 – 2015, –he had been promoted as Portfolio Officer, Assistant to Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Head of Operations Department, and Head of Training Department with the same MFI. Pheng holds his Master Degree in Business Administration /Management graduated from Build Bright University (Cambodia) in 2011 and held also his Bachelor Degree in Banking and Finance graduated from the same university in 2009. Additionally, he attended various training courses related to microfinance operations and management. 

    Mr. PEL Chivita  was appointed as Project Manager of SAMIC Plc in March 2016. Before joining SAMIC, he used to hold various positions with a number of well-known organizations such as HKI, FAO, GRET and CEDAC as Agriculture Program Coordinator, National Agriculture Advisor, Project Manager, and Project Coordinator and Farmer Community Facilitator, respectively. Chivita has more than 10 years of extensive experience in managing projects relevant to agriculture, rural development, market linkage, agricultural value chains, and agriculture credit and project management. Chivita holds a Master Degree of Business Administration specialized in Agriculture and Rural Development from Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) of Cambodia. He also holds a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture specialized in Agronomy Science from Preak Leap National College of Agriculture. Chivita has attended various exposure visits and trainings in the related fields including the topics on voucher schemes and agricultural inputs, village diagnosis and farm diagnosis, participatory learning and action for mutual self-empowerment, etc.
     

     

    MR. SA SOK, FINANCE AND MIS MANAGER, joined SAMIC in early 2012 as Acting Finance and MIS Manager and was recently appointed as Finance and MIS Manager. He has had extensive experience over 11 years with several reputable institutions including CHC - MEADA as Promotion and Underwriting Officer, Credit Mutuel du Kampuchea (CMK) as General Trainer, and Asia HRDC as English Teacher. Sok holds a MBA in Finance and Banking and BBA in Mathematics. He is currently pursuing studies toward a MBA in Organization Development specializing in Microfinance Management with Southeast Asia Interdisciplinary Development Institute (SAIDI), the Philippines.

    Ms. CHHEAV Kimna, has been working for SAMIC for almost 6 years. She has played critical roles in various secretarial works of the Institution. Before joining SAMIC, Kimna used to work with various international organizations including FIDR as Project Assistant and CCF as Administrator and Finance Assistant. Kimna is currently holding two bachelor degrees in Economics from the Royal University of Law and Economics and in English Literacy from Build Bright University. Furthermore, she has attended various training courses pertaining to her job duties. In 2015, she was nominated by the Institution to lead a team of provincial managers on their exposure visit to CARD-MRI of the Philippines.
     

     

    Mr. PEN Sovath joined SAMIC as MIS Unit Manager in January 2013. After one year, he was appointed as Compliance Unit Manager in Operations Department.  In July 2015, he was appointed as Deputy Internal Audit and Risk Manager. Before joining SAMIC, he worked as Finance Manager of Cambodian Health Committee (CHC), the founder of SAMIC.

    Sovath holds BBA and MBA from Build Bright University. He also holds a Diploma in Accounting from Regent College. In addition, he has attended various trainings related to management and leadership.
